From today onwards can we ask everybody attending the surgery to wear facemasks or face coverings, which can be homemade. This is to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19 to staff, to other patients, and to you.
St Helens has had one of the highest rates of Covid-19 infection in the country, and it’s essential to do everything we can to prevent a second peak of infections and deaths.
We now strongly encourage you and your family (including children who are old enough) to wear facemasks (or face coverings) when near other people. This includes supermarkets and shops, busses and trains, and queuing – and even when meeting friends outside in parks and private gardens. Wear masks on busy streets, but not on quiet roads or paths where others can give you space.
